My new Nike shoes are white (well, “beige” actually, but whatever, you get the point I guess, haha 😛 ), a color shade which I have been quite into in recent months. One thing that I had in mind, before finalizing my purchase was my “worry” of the shoes’ “tendency” to get dirty easier because of their color. But I liked the shoes’ color and style more than this “worry” and so I ignored it, haha 😛 .

And it happened that I went to Lyon the weekend after I got my shoes delivered; which was a perfect timing for my new shoes of course! I walked a lot during that trip, and on my way back to Amsterdam on Sunday, I noticed:

Dirty shoes

that, indeed, my shoes got “dirty” during the trip; and it was visible because of the color! Lol 😆 . I immediately washed them after arriving home so that they looked clean(er)! Oh well … .

I still like my new shoes, btw, even though this perhaps means that I need to be a little bit more mindful on when and where to wear them, haha 😛

A Santa tram in Amsterdam

One aspect I like about Winter (Well, December to be precise) is the festive atmosphere because of the upcoming Christmas and New Year. And last month, I saw the above tram running around Amsterdam. Yep, it turned out that it was not only the people who were excited about the holiday season! Haha 😛

Oliebollen (left) and beignets (right) in Amsterdam

Speaking of the festivity last month, obviously it wouldn’t be complete without … some oliebollen! And obviously this snack was quite everywhere in the Netherlands throughout December. At one point, I saw the above tester pieces at a supermarket in Amsterdam. I noticed that those pieces were testers of oliebollen and … apple beignets!

Nowadays beignets remind me of New Orleans, which I visited last Spring. But … the beignets above did not look like the beignets that I had in New Orleans, which looked like the following:

Beignets in New Orleans

Though interestingly, to be honest the New Orleans’ beignets looked (and tasted) like … the Dutch oliebollen! Funny, wasn’t it? 😛

Beignets di New Orleans

Nah loh!! 😛

I’ve always wanted to taste beignets! They’re a bit like old fashioned doughnuts that my mum makes with powdered sugar yumm (although the amount of sugar worries me a little haha)

Hahaha, in a way oliebollen (or the New Orleans beignets) is like doughnut with sugar Gy, indeed, just shaped differently! Lol 😆 . Though taste-wise, oliebollen is a little bit “firmer” than doughnut 😀 .

Aku juga malas banget punya sepatu warna putih, takut cepat kotor. Apalagi aku paling malas bersihinnya :D.

Iya banget! Mana kemarin ini harus aku bersihin lagi! Padahal sepatu-sepatu lainnya nggak perlu sesering ini pembersihannya! Hahaha 😆 . Lesson learned deh 😛 .

emang tram jarang hilir mudik gitu ko kalau bukan bulan desember?

    1. zilko says:

Makanya jadi berasa banget suasana Natalnya, hahaha 😆 .
