#1885 – March 1st

ENGLISH

TU Delft

Since the day I arrived in the Netherlands in August 2010, I have always been affiliated with TU Delft. I started as an international Master student back then, a status I held for exactly two years until August 2012. Immediately in September 2012, I started my PhD, which contract ended in August 2016. At the time, though, I was immediately given the hospitality contract because I hadn’t yet had my PhD thesis defense and graduation. So while I was not working for TU Delft anymore (I didn’t receive any salary, bonus, etc), I was still affiliated with TU Delft by this hospitality contract that was meant to support me to my defense. And as you know, I had my PhD defense and graduation at the end of January. So there was no more reason to renew my hospitality contract at the university, which expired this February.

And as today is March 1st, it means that for the first time ever in more than 6.5 years, I am no longer affiliated to TU Delft. Well, of course I still am as an alumni; and TU Delft fills a huge part in my CV now, haha 😛 . But what I mean is, at any given time now I am not officially affiliated to TU Delft.

And for whatever reason, it feels … different! Haha

Weekend

Anyway, last weekend I was finally able to have some much-needed rest! Haha 😆 . I had been travelling non-stops the past four weekends before that (preparing for my defense, to Italy, to Marseille, and to Marseille again, haha). While those were certainly fun, realistically my body also needed some rest. And the fact that I had to spend three hours every single working day commuting now certainly did not help.

I felt a little bit sleep-deprived and I was glad I could catch up on that last weekend, haha.

A Raise

And also, this March means that … I get a raise! Yeay! Haha 😆 . Last week my team leader invited me for a talk and informed me that based on my performance, I deserved a raise. And this raise will kick into effect starting from this March. Haha! 😛

BAHASA INDONESIA

TU Delft

Haha! 😛
