Getting to Singapore

AirAsia logo
Flight: AirAsia AK 732
Equipment: Airbus A320-200 reg 9M-AHT
ATD: 09:17 MYT (Runway 21 of LGK)
ATA: 10:20 SGT (Runway 20R of SIN)

Our AirAsia flight to Singapore was scheduled at 08:50 AM from Langkawi Airport. So we left our hotel at around 07:00 AM which involved a mini drama where the reception was closed and we could not check out, lol😆 . Lucky we ordered a taxi the night before so the driver could call the guy to check us out😀 .

Long story short, we checked in, passed the immigration desk and security check, and boarded at around 08:30 AM. The plane today was an AirAsia’s Airbus A320-200 reg 9M-AHT with special “Thank You Sabah” livery!! Yay!! #ilovespeciallivery:mrgreen:

After boarding was completed, we took off from runway 21 of Langkawi Airport. As we were taking off, we passed over the beautiful small islands south of Langkawi. Such a scenic view! Then I got my delicious pre-ordered roasted chicken with cream sauce meal. As for the rest of the flight, it was a typical uneventful LCC flight. About one hour later at 10:20 AM, we landed at runway 20R of Singapore Changi Airport. Here is the landing video:

Btw, it was a super smooth flight today with AirAsia. Somehow the pilots chose not to use high angle of attack so we climbed up, down, and turned rather slowly, which was actually quite comfortable on a narrow-body flight🙂 .

Singapore

In my latest visit to Singapore (when I was transitting for ten hours, lol😆 ), I did not visit Gardens by the Bay. And after seeing this WTA Finals photoshoot last year:

I knew I must visit this site this time. So we did. And we went to the exact same spot (except that it was full with people this time, lol😆 ) so that I could take this photo:

Haha😆 . After that, we went in the garden as well, even though did not spend any time to enter any of the non-free stuffs there😛 .

Anyway, Singapore was, well, Singapore. We went to Clarke Quay, Vivo City Mall, Marina Bay Sands, and some part of Orchard (because I wanted to eat my favorite noodles dish there😀 ).

Universal Studio Singapore

The one day I went to Far Far Away

In our only full day in Singapore, we decided to go to the Universal Studio Singapore (USS). We already booked our tickets prior to our arrival and got them delivered to our hostel once we arrived in Singapore.

It was a Sunday and, of course, USS was packed with people! At least we already got our ticket so we could directly join the queue to enter the site. Btw, the weather ranged from really hot to rainy today, such a weird day, haha😆 .

We tried many of the rides there. Even sometimes when we saw a queue which was not too long, we just jumped in without trying to find out what that queue was for first, haha. But indeed this caused us to, sometimes, went for rides that were unexciting, lol😆 .

But to me, in my opinion, the best feature of USS was definitely not the rides. It was actually anything else but the rides! I really like their design of everything which was really really good. I also particularly like a lot of their “shows” which, IMO, make them really unique as a theme park. For instance, the Rockafellas Streetboys breakdance, the Underwater World show, Sesame Street show, the Mel’s Dinettes show, and a lot of other street performances!

And we left the site at around 19:00, just when it was closed.

Kopdar

Anyway, in Singapore, luckily I could meet with Jenita! Originally we planned to meet on Sunday evening after my visit to USS but thanks to the non-existence of free wifi there, we could not follow it up. But luckily the next morning both of us could meet for a brunch!😀

We met at Tiong Bahru station with another friend of hers. Then we walked to a popular cafe in the neighborhood which served French patisserie. It was fun to be able to meet in person!🙂 And it was nice that I had the opportunity for a kopdar during this summer vacation!🙂 . We were there for about two hours (I think) and I had to go back to my hostel to continue my trip.

The Food

My proposal for our first (late) lunch was my favorite noodles dish in Somerset, near Orchard. I first knew this noodles booth in my visit there in 2009. And to my surprise, the price of one bowl of noodles still has not increased since then, for just S$4.50!!🙂 (cheap considering its location as well) Well, it was still super tasty as ever🙂 .

Another memorable dish which I had was a traditional Xi’an lamb dish in a restaurant near my hostel in Chinatown. It was a little bit spicy, but was still bearable for me. And it was so good! It was really big though and because I ate there by myself, even though I could finish it (lol,😆 ), my tummy was so full afterwards😀 .

Ah, and I also had my other favorite Singaporean/Malaysian dish: osyter omelette, as well😀 .

Ke Singapore

AirAsia logo
Penerbangan: AirAsia AK 732
Pesawat: Airbus A320-200 reg 9M-AHT
ATD: 09:17 MYT (Runway 21 of LGK)
ATA: 10:20 SGT (Runway 20R of SIN)

Hore!! #pecintaliveryspesial:mrgreen:

Setelah boarding selesai, kami lepas landas dari landasan pacu 21 Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Langkawi. Ketika lepas landas, kami melewati pulau-pulau indah di selatan Langkawi. Pemandangannya keren dah!

Singapura

Di kunjungan terakhirku ke Singapura (ketika aku transit disana selama sepuluh jam-an, haha😆 ), aku tidak mengunjungi Gardens by the Bay.

Finally taking this picture at Gardens By The Bay
Akhirnya foto begini juga di Gardens By The Bay

Haha😆 .

Universal Studio Singapore

The one day I went to Far Far Away

Kami mencoba beberapa mainannya disana.

Misalnya, ada Rockafellas Streetboys breakdance, Underwater World show, Sesame Street show, the Mel’s Dinettes show, dan banyak pertunjukan jalanan lainnya!

Kami meninggalkan areanya sekitar jam 7 malam, tepat waktu ketika tutup.

Kopdar

Aku suka banget suasananya disana!!🙂

Hahaha, ayoo ke Singapore, kan cuma deket tuh😛 .

  2. Ah! Singapore! Agree with you about the USS Ko. 😀 I went to garden by the bay and got into the non free and it was great, about the way how they arrange things, not the content. Haha.

    1. Yes, if one is looking for exciting rides, they should not go to USS😀 . Haha, we were too cheap to pay the non-free attractions at Gardens by the Bay😛 .

    1. Film apa Niee? Hitman kah? Haha.

  3. Salam kenal! I actually went inside the Gardens by the Bay (my sister got some promotion ticket and it was super cheap!) and I was skeptical at first but was very impressed!
Love doing “wisata kuliner” in Singapore. If you’re into Indian food I recommend Jaggi’s near the Little India MRT, their garlic naan and butter chicken are to die for!

    1. Salam kenal🙂 . Thanks for the recommendation! I put it on my note🙂 . Yeah, Gardens by the Bay was indeed spectacular. Too bad we were too cheap that day to pay the extra fee; but I don’t know whether we would change our mind had we also got some discounted pass😛 .
