#1406 – Side Stories from My Paris Roland Garros Trip

ENGLISH

Photos

I usually take many pictures when I am travelling (but not pictures of myself though, more about the objects I see). And it, apparently, intensifies significantly everytime I am visiting a tennis tournament, haha😛 . So obviously I took a lot of photos during my three day visit to Roland Garros. Can anyone guess how many photos I took with my camera during my three day visit to Roland Garros (well, plus the two days before and after my visit)?

Well, it was 1,866. Yes, one thousand eight hundred and sixty six! Hahaha😛

Around The Ground of Stade Roland Garros

One of the (many) benefits of actually visiting a tennis tournament, especially a grandslam, is the opportunity to see what is going on in the venue other than the tennis matches. Here is one of them:

One essential party that is involved in any official tour-level match is the ballkids. Just like the players, they need to also move and run a lot during the match. Which further implies that they also need to do their own warm-ups.

In the morning, before the matches started, aside from watching a lot of players warming up, I was also able to watch (or see) these ballkids warming up. And this video was one of the occassion. It looks quite fun, doesn’t it? Even though I have no idea what the lyrics of the jingle is about (though I am sure it is something about Roland Garros😛 ).

The “Mexican Wave”

One thing that I like from watching tennis in Court Philippe Chatrier is that sometimes, the fans like to enjoy themselves too by making the “Mexican wave” during the break, hahaha😆 . And of course I joined them!🙂

Biasanya memang aku mengambil banyak foto ketika sedang bepergian (eh tapi bukan foto diri sendiri sih, kebanyakan sih tentang obyek yang aku lihat).
