#1241 – Live from London (Part 2)

ENGLISH

So, this is the second part of the Live from London posts series. After posting the previous post, I went to South Kensington to meet up with my friend who now lives in London and had dinner together. We had dinner at the Comptoir restaurant, a nice Lebanese restaurant (but it was quite unique in the sense that the name of the restaurant was so “French” while it was actually in London, haha๐Ÿ˜† ). I ordered a mixed grill and it was really nice. We didn’t stay there for too long because I had to go back to my hotel soon because the next morning I had to get up early for the conference.

These past two days, I have spent most of my time at the conference. I don’t think I should write in a lot of details about the conference here though, hahaha๐Ÿ˜† . But it has been nice. The entire theme of the conference is not really my cup of tea but there are several presentations that are quite related to what I am doing. So it has been nice. And one important thing for now is that I have done my presentation this afternoon. Yay! So now I am pretty much free (from pressure)! Huahaha๐Ÿ˜†

How was my presentation? Well, it went extremely well. (I think) I prepared myself well so I was quite confident going into the conference. I did not feel nervous at all (for presenting in front of international audiences from all over the world๐Ÿ˜€ ), but I thought the nervousness would come several minutes before my presentation time. It did a little bit (which was normal, I think), but it did not overwhelm me. And one thing I really like was that there was actually a lot of time for the Q&A session after my presentation, and there were many questions coming in (and the time wasn’t actually enough to accommodate all the questions :D), which means that my presentation was well-received and people were actually curious about my project. Our (my supervisor’s and mine) big goal was achieved as well where we got some feedbacks that we hoped we would get. So, I am really really happy now๐Ÿ™‚ .

Anyway, in my trip to London last year, I had such a nice dining experience at a Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Jamie’s Italian. That is why in this trip I would really like to come back there. So, yesterday for dinner I went to one of the restaurants (there are a few Jamie’s Italians in London). I did not go to the one I went to last year (Covent Garden) because it was kinda far away and also there was a restaurant that was much closer to my hotel, in Canary Wharf. This time, I ordered posh chips (my favorite from my previous visit) and a turkey Milanese. Btw, I noticed that they changed some of the menu though. There were a few new menus while some older menus (that I ordered last year) were gone.ย The posh chips was nice and the turkey Milanese was okay even though it did taste, generally, like a German schnitzel.

Btw, now, I just got back from a conference evening (basically a party) in the Natural History Museum which was A BLAST!! Btw, yes, the sponsor is so rich that they rent the big and famous Natural History Museum for a party, hahaha๐Ÿ˜† . I am so tired now so I think I will keep this part of the story for later๐Ÿ˜› .

BAHASA INDONESIA

Tapi sekarang rasanya sudah capek banget nih jadi ceritanya aku simpan untuk posting selanjutnya aja yah๐Ÿ˜› .
